Please recommend an MOT centre for 4000kg A class motorhome in the leeds braford area?

Hello, I keep my van at leeds bradford airport and until this year i have always had it mot'd at Moorfileds garage but they have changed the garage layout and say its too big now for them to do, please can someone recommend a place that will MOT a large A class Van in the leeds bradford area preferably near the airport.

Don't know anyone in that area, but it reminded me of a place I can heartily recommend near Liverpool airport.

Excellent people.

I had no end of trouble finding a place. The van was either too big, or too small !

The previous year a place in Skelmersdale ripped me off, charging 2.5x the price of the standard MOT.

thanks - a bit too far away!
 
Some bus depots and transport companies will MOT privately owned m/homes.
They may need reminding of its MOT class (it'll be Class 4 I think but I may be confusing it with French motorway tolls and others on here probably know better).

Further south, in Shropshire, another I can recommend that took my 5-tonner without a blink.

You could try Bingley Mot. They MOT'd my MH last year and will do again this. They used to hire out MHs so know a bit about them and are used to working with them. Don't know about the size limits but I think they could handle the weight.

(they even have a piccy of a MH up on the ramps on their homepage..)

I take our van to Autotec and David Peel Auto Electricians Ltd, Dalton Lane, Keighley. They have a DVLA Testing Bay for HGVs that they use for motorhomes over 3.5tons. I used to take our 5.5 ton Frankia there. We've downsized but still take our current van there for its MOT. I've had nothing but first class service from them over the last ten years.
Tell them the vehicle's weight when booking. They generally put you in after the day's HGV test, around 3.30pm or later. They do repairs too.

I found that out of date, and virtually useless.
Many which say "commercial" or "HGV" refuse motorhomes. Or in one case charged 2.5x.

It would only ever be a class7if used commercially and over 3,5T.

If you have no luck locating a garage in the Leeds / Bradford area, a little further south down the M1 you will find Unity Garage just outside Barnsley. They cover commercial vehicles of all sizes, so should accommodate you. A quick phone call would confirm this. As well as MOT’s, they cover servicing and mechanical repairs. You can also hire a small car should you require one while they have your vehicle. A clean and well organised workshop with good workforce to deal with.

Following garage was recommended on this forum some time ago.
Prob 1 hour away from LBA, but had a good recommendation.

It's class 4 as its not a commercial vehicle is a motorhome
 
Another vote for David Peel at Keighley. Really helpful and they do very large vehicles.

Udrive (yes the car hire place) do MOTs and vehicle maintenance and services
 
California MOTs Gomersal just a few miles south of Bradford.
All big bays and pits no lifting ,that's all they do
Chasnam.
