I am starting planning a 6 week trip to the Baltic in May and June and am looking for suggestions for stops and routes. We generally stay in aires or campsites rather than off grid, we like a mixture of rural and cities. Our plan is to cross Harwich - Hook of Holland and return the same way, suggestions for stopping places near the ferry out and back (pub stops are fine too) would be very welcome. Thanks

Kiel Festival worth a look.

We loved it but you need to book camping
Also Lubeck and Pinnamunde

Peenemunde would be somewhere I would like to visit as my dad was a Lancaster pilot who took part in the raid on Peenemunde during Operation Hydra 17/18 August 1943.
Definitely put it on your list then. Very interesting (and sad) and lots to see. A very good newish interpretation and museum bit.

Luneburg well worth a visit
Camp site at Camping Rote Schleuse nice walk to town via forest and decent restaurant.
Best to book a day or two in advance.
There is also a Stileplatz nearer the town

Fort Bourtange in NL also worth a look. again a nice camp site just outside. Fort is busy during the day but nice for a walk after 5pm. Couple of restaurants inside fort.

We were heading to the Baltic last September
One thing we found was the campsites were still busy and we came across some that were full.

We visited Prora with the huge Nazi hotel buildings some in ruins others now being modernised and reused. I would have visited Peenemunde but from what I could see there's very little there. Lots of marinas do motorhome parking but not cheap. It's a great area to visit.
