We are travelling to St Malo at the beginning of September and plan to spend a week around the Normandy area. Any recommendations on places to stay and visit.

Should also have mentioned Deauville, went there about 5 years ago and another beautiful town…and finally (as not spent much time in Normandy) Honfleur which I am pretty sure is a “rite of passage” for any MH’er.

We get off the St Malo ferry and drive to Pontorson, about 45 mins., and into Carrefour in the town for supplies. There is an aire in the car park if needed or a few minutes to one of the Mt St Michel sites or 400 metres to Camping Halitosis (acsi site). Then we decide on what's next

No, had a look in June. It was busy and for 25 euros seemed expensive, but, it is location. 2 mins walk to the buses to the mont, you are in amongst the hotels and the barrage. We stay further out and cycle or bus
Look at nearby Camping Car Aire. From there walk to the huge car park and pick up a free bus.

I have but it was a few years ago , good site and close to the mont, as said quite expensive now @€25 plus extras . Last time i was there i used the aire at Beauvoir which is well set out , bit of a walk to the free bus and looking at prices that has gone up a fair bit.I paid €12 a night There are aires closer but reviews aren't good and expensive .

If you’re travelling up the A84 we have used the municipal campsite at Pont-Farcy a few times
- very pleasant site on the river

Le Bec-Hellouin, just North of Brionne, is a beautiful tiny village with an abbey (we heard the monks at morning prayer), a couple of bars/ restaurants and about a mile up the hill a smart little campsite, Camping St Nicholas. It’s a Most Beautiful Village of France; we have the MBVF book, it’s an interesting way to tour an area.
Deauville is quite posh; we overnighted in the barriered station car park with the overhang over grass; remember to leave early a.m. or pay a second day! The restaurants are over the bridge in Trouville.

Used Camping ST Clair in Neufchattel en bray a few years ago. Nice camp site and they had an aire next door, but not sure of any prices now.
Short walk to the supermarket as you pass it going in, and theres a vet if you need one.
I wasnt keen on Normandy as I found the people a little standoff ish.
On the other hand I love Brittany and had a house there for many years.
