Yesterday I booked a site on the pitchup website,I paid in full and thought it was all sorted. About an hour later I received a phone call from the site in France, they told me it was a mistake and their site did not open until the week after I had booked. I cancelled the booking on the website, but it said the booking fee was nonrefundable. I used the contract section and complained. Under an hour later I received a reply apologising, with the explanation that it is the fault of the campsite, as they put the opening dates in themselves. I checked my Revolut app and the full amount had been returned. A mistake, but rectified quickly, after the way some firms deal with mistakes it's refreshing to find someone sorting it out well.

I've also recently had an unsettling experience. I ordered a towbar wiring harness from eBay, after discussing on line re make model etc. I received the wrong harness (confirmed by the sellers supplier) I returned the harness via eBay's return process using their QR code. I discussed with the seller and they were going to send me the correct harness as soon as they received the original one back.

I got a partial refund this morning, saying that the returned harness was damaged and so they disposed of it .... Quickly got onto eBay and within ten minutes I received a full refund (less @£4 for postage) great work eBay ( I have 100% positive feedback over 24 years and close to 1000 purchases, which might have helped)

So the seller 'disposed' of the item ..... If it quacks like a duck then ....

I am awaiting some response from the seller before I post the item number I bought on MHF as information to other Funsters, in case they do have a genuine explanation as that seems to be fairer than just publicly naming and shaming.

Had a similar experience with CCP last summer. In my panic I inadvertently booked Mont St Michel on the wrong date but it was outside of the cancellation time. I emailed, explained what an idiot I was and they refunded with no problem.

I hate it when you get faulty goods and leave a neutral or poor review and then get bombarded with e mails offering you a partial refund if you change your review, always send the response, It doesn't work or is not fit for purpose why should I tell lies? full refund please!

its a pain, but this was clearly marked as a PE (as in peugeot) instead of FI (as in fiat) - tracked down the manufacturer from the packaging who told me as i wouldnt have known, i dont know the difference but if the manufacturer tells me i have the wrong one, and the seller has sold me the wrong one, then i would always tend to believe them!

Not a problem as I broke it.
Bought a rivnut tool on ebay and I broke the 4mm mandral. Contacted the supplier asking if the could supply a new mandrel, obviously a Chinese drop shipper as they didn't have a clue what I was talking about. They offered me a 20% refund, few more emails then 30% and finally a 50% refund.
Gave up in the end and took the refund still got all the other sizes so not really a problem.

Recently we were due to go away for a few days starting on the Friday when we had the big storm. Campsite was booked weeks before. First thing on the Friday morning we had a call from the site to check that we wouldn't be travelling that day and we weren't charged for the missed night either.
