For reasons I won't bore you with I have bought a pair of surface mounted speakers to replace the recessed ones in the dashboard top. It's a very straightforward swap as the cables to the stereo are already sticking out of the dash top with their small/big spade connectors from the old speakers. The new speakers have corresponding spade connectors on the speaker backs but...they also have wires soldered on to the bases of them (this doesn't interfere with their use) with a metre of cable with round connectors on the other end. The box just says 'don't touch the flexible speaker wire' so what am I meant to do with it? Just tape the ends and leave it in the dash?

That is normally a warning for the pair of thin wires going to the speaker cone, not the connecting wires

The tiny one's in the picture

Are they 2nd hand? looks like someone has added modified speaker cables and soldered them (poorly) onto the spade terminals. You can either join the existing speaker cable to the black and white cable (white with black stripe will be +) using bullet connectors or cut the black and white cables off and use the original spade connectors from the original cables if long enough

They're new. I think I'll just get bullet connectors as the box does say not to touch the wires, but then why provide spades as well. Oh well.
Thx for your feedback.

I'd snip the supplied wires off as close to the soldered terminals and use your existing ones.
