Asking for a friend with a Pilote Evidence, should the fixed telescopic table lock in place only at top level and lower bed level or should it be able to be locked in any position?
Thanks in advance.

Evidence is the specification, what model is it?

I would expect it to lock at any height, the twist lever is just that on ours anyways, just a cam lock system.

I assumed our telescopic table would lock in any position in our Carthago but only does at full height or the bed height  the legs could well be made by one company im thinking

We have a Pilote 696D 6.99m, the table only appears to lock at the top and bottom positions, however I will double check in the morning :giggle:

The manual (What? Me??) looking at a manual??? tells me that, assuming the telescopic tables are all the same on Pilote, the table goes down to the seat base level in order to allow the table to be a base for a bed.
If it didn't stay there, it would make for an interesting moment in the middle of the night, (or earlier)!!!

Yes, it will lock at that level so that’s ok. It’s just that finding a personal height to eat at doesn’t seem to be possible. I did read their manual . I videod their handover too so we have all those in neat sections but to be honest the handover guy was awful - I don’t like to think it was because 2 women, but ………

Know nothing about it but do wonder if it has hole on the shaft that a pin drops into, perhaps cable operated. If so maybe you could drill another hole at your desired height.

Thanks Roby, this one actually doesn’t lock on the raised position and can be pushed down so could you check that on yours. Thanks very much.

Hi Annie , we have a Pilote evidence 740 and yes you should be able to lock in any position ie you can have it at coffee table height , the lever at one end can be a little stiff, best try locking it at the top first to see if that works , just do what I did have a good play with it you will find out how it works, just read your post again I think the 696 doesn't lock at different heights but like I said just play around with it .

Yes lever is stiff but I can turn it the full 180°. It definitely locks when in lowered position for bed making but cannot turn the lever to lock in any other position but fully raised. However although can lock lever in fully raised position, you can still push table top down.
If you or Roby2008 have any other Pilote Evidence tips they would be useful. ! For example the shower/toilet tambour door use and to me, the shower tray seems very shallow. Of course this could be compromise on the short 626d version.

So, checked this morning, the table has 2 lockable positions, fully lowered for the bed and fully raised for the table, there is a click when it reaches the top or the bottom, you then lock it in place with the lever, playing with the lever while Rasing or lowering does nothing and it will not lock into any other position...

We don´t have the bed on full low so I lock the table in the bottom position and put the side cushions on top of the table for storage overnight and a bit of bed support.

The shower tray is shallow ( P696 D Expression ) but that is perfect as madame can park the wheelchair in when she transfers to the shower seat I installed..
I did remove the shower doors to make it easier to access and cut out some rattles as a bonus, a curtain fits just nicely using the old door frame/fixing

Photos if wanted...

For the shower door you either need some press studs fastening and a bit of strapping to keep it shut in transit, the magnets are not strong enough to keep it closed or we used a chamfered wine cork in the bottom runner which did the same trick of stopping the door sliding around when on the move

Hi Annie,

In it's 'Up' state, it's too high for our nightly vice session??? and Mrs Emmit insists on me getting it lower, which is something I've achieved on several occasions.
Furthermore, I have no difficulty getting it up afterwards.

Hi Annie took some photos first one is the lever that moves the table back and forth the second one is the lever that moves it up and down as you can from the rest it locks in different positions , that's how it works on my 740

Thanks, yes, got the actions of the 2 levers ok it’s just to check the one that locks the raise and lower. It does seem for all your answers that it is not working correctly. New MH, it is much easier to go back to dealer well armed with information. The only position the lock works is fully down at bed level.

Tried to drain the grey waste today. Pulled the handle, and the handle and attached rod just came away in our hands ☹️

Sounds like your friend may be spending some time back at the dealership!
