Asking for a friend - honest. His Phantom alarm has started going off randomly (happened twice last night!), triggered by the internal movement sensors. He's called the support line and they asked if he had a Ring doorbell as they've had reports of interference from Ring doorbells triggering the alarm. Funnily enough he's only recently installed a Ring doorbell and a couple of stick-ip cameras. Has anyone else heard of this, or are they trying to pull the wool over his eyes?

I had problems with the U/S sensors being oversensitive. Got them dialled back and has been fine since. How long since the phantom alarm was fitted ?

Not sure. I think it's about 4 years old. The alarm is out of warranty - I do know that. They've offered to send someone out, but obviously at a cost.

If it is 4 years old and has been fine so far then it is probably not that. I don't have any information on Ring Doorbells effecting such systems. I would suggest it is not impossible. I used to go to a news agents on the way to work, my key fob would not lock the car when parked there, turned out to be an infrared light blocking it, so these things can happen although they are rare.
