Just wondering if any members could throw some light on this conundrum - I have a 2017 Boxer 2.0 l BlueHDi and while travelling on a motorway yesterday (3hrs+) I got a message just saying "range 980 km" - no mention of being low in Adblue, no warning symbols, nothing only the range message. It is now down to a range of 750 km. I went to top up the Adblue but it took only a little over 7 l. New Adblue tank and denox system replaced 10k km back. All opinions or similar experiences welcome. TIA

Hmm, same engine here. Had the Adblue warning and that is quite clear that the Adblue needs topping up. The only thing that comes to mind, and forgive me for suggesting this, is that you caught the end of the wiper stalk and changed the display from the date to range which is the next setting. But then maybe the switch got triggered by something else, maybe vibration from a pothole.

I’ll be interested to see if anyone else has a better suggestion.

Keep pressing the button on the right hand stalk and it will cycle the display between Range / Average Mpg / Current Mpg / Trip distance, etc.

I'm amazed you haven't discovered it before. 😀

Hi Perterd82, thanks for your suggestion but I don't follow what you mean regarding the wiper stalk and the date to range change:sneaky:. The message appeared while driving on the motorway.

Remember it's tech so could be crying wolf.
Be exciting to see what happens when it gets to 0
bobnick thanks but not going to wait until it gets to 0, unless I'm driving onto a Peugeot forecourt :giggler: I'm currently over 200 miles from home base and anxious not to run into limp mode

Just new to the Boxer and the whole Adblue stuff. I'll try your suggestion when I get back to the van, thanks 😊

Hi again Peterd82, from what another poster has suggested I now follow what you meant :giggle:

My query now is - what is the "Range" referring to? Fuel? You might find this hard to believe but I called into a Peugeot dealer, a lady had a look at the display but didn't suggest what you mentioned regarding the wiper stalk! She said it would be next week before they could take it in for a diagnostics check!

Yes - it's just a countdown to how many miles / kilometres until you are going to run out of diesel. Part of the vehicle "trip computer".

Surely every car and van for the last decade or so has had this functionality?

It's completely normal, nothing to worry about, and nothing to do with AdBlu. 👍

If you want to satisfy yourself that nothing is amiss, then stop at a filling station, brim the tank with diesel, and watch the range climb accordingly.

Thanks so much to all you helpful fellow members. Yes, when I got back to the van I switched on the ignition and toggled through all the options using the button on the end of the wiper stalk and of course the range issue refers to the fuel remaining! Now isn't it just amazing that a Peugeot service person, who consulted with her backroom team of technicians couldn't have spotted what the issue was and suggested the simple soluton, Oh Please!. The more I deal with main dealers the more I'm convinced that they just love when people having issues with Adblue, dpf, error codes, etc. They see it as an opportunity to make fast bukes - firstly diagnostics is well over €100, followed by a solution - that could be €1300 for a new Adblue tank/system or even better €2500 for a new dpf system! It's crazy and should be called out.

Don't know if you would have collated the fuel gauge going down along with the numbers.
Agree it's frightening to think the "expert technician's" didn't know this simple query.

So glad to find this thread, and info about stalk! So, I have got the check AdBlue message and the orange engine light is on. It appeared a few weeks ago so we filled up the AdBlue tank and the message remained. I forgot about it. I suppose I hoped it would go eventually. Now, a few days before going away, I realise it hasn’t gone and Peugeot van garages in S London can’t look at it until mid-August!

The manual is clear (haha) that the range will be displayed and go down if AdBlue not refilled. After reading this thread, I found the range and it was 288. I filled up the diesel and it went back up to 688, so presumably will not refuse to start? Or is there a different range indicator associated with AdBlue? I am in Yorkshire atm and a local garage is going to look at it tomorrow with the diagnostics, hopefully to reset. Does anyone have any experience of this particular issue?

Yes, the range indicator on the stalk is the diesel range, roughly how many miles before filling up again. The adblue message is different and won’t have changed by filling up with diesel.
Hopefully you can get it sorted tomorrow and don’t have a serious fault in the adblue system. I don’t think the orange engine light is anything to do with adblue and is an indicator of another issue.
Best of luck !
