Hello all
I’ve a 2020 70 plate Peugeot Boxer panel van thats used for work. This was bought at 12 months old and was an ex-courier van. When supplied new it was fitted with “slam “ locks on the side sliding and twin rear doors. Once these doors are closed they can only be opened with a key in a lock. I was concerned that the keys could be put down in the van and one of the doors closed shut thus having the keys locked in the van. I’ve reinstated the cable from the slam lock to the std handle on the rear doors without any issues and this works perfectly. Unfortunately the side door is not as simple as I thought. This handle has 3 cables going to it. 1 of these cables had been removed and fitted to a lever on the slam lock barrel. My idea, as I did at the rear, was to put the cable back on the original handle but I found that a small cable retention disc was missing. Unfortunately this can’t be bought as a separate part so complete handle and cable assembly had to be ordered. I‘ve dully fitted this and built everything back up as Peugeot intended. The sliding door now opens and closes using the new (original type) handle. The problem I have now is the central locking will lock this door but won’t unlock it. Could something else have been removed? I’ve checked the contact pad on the C post and packed it out slightly, no difference there. Nothing looks out of place on or around the lock mechanism. I’m at a loss as to what it can be. Does the central locking require reprogramming? Or am I missing something totally obvious? Apologies for the long winded question but I wanted to try and explain everything in one hit.
thanks, Blue Moon
