Peter Vaughan!

I quite like the look of that Megamobil Lounge 640. Expensive though, and part exchange are prices rock bottom which is a bit of a disincentive!

I didn't know that Peugeot were now doing an automatic 8-speed gearbox (presumably the same that Fiat are using), coupled with a 180hp engine. They have only offered manual boxes in the past. Be interesting to see how good that is.

I saw his brief review this morning and I thought the van looked impressive, I hope you do well with them.

Some nice touches and a good review

Not watched the video yet, but I’ve got to say, I wasn’t exactly blown away when I saw this motorhome last year at the NEC

It just didn’t do it for me. One major issue? No wardrobe. Not a single one in sight. Now, that might be fine for some people; perhaps those who embrace a minimalist, wrinkle-friendly lifestyle, but not for me. I need a place to hang my coats, jackets, dresses. Siân does too! '\

And then there's the U-shaped lounge. I’ve never been a fan. It looks inviting, but where exactly am I supposed to sit comfortably and watch TV without adopting some sort of horizontal, semi-conscious sprawl? Apparently, the only way to relax properly is to lie down like a beached whale. I can’t do that; I have standards, I'm not a slob! I want a nice, comfy chair, but they are at the other end of the van away from the entertainment!

So, while this motorhome might tick some boxes for you, it’s a no from me.

Looks very heavy for a 3500’er, I wonder what the payload is? 🤔

Couldn't see how you used the sink, sit on the toilet maybe?

It's good to see companies trying to do things differently. After all one size does not fit all ;)

Was interesting to see the layout and the review did make it easy to see some of the pros and cons. As a singleton the layout could work for me but, the top lockers are only accessible if the bed is up? I'd have to nickname it yo-yo.

Correct, the tiny top lockers are only accessible when the bed is up.

But there are a couple of hidden (also small) ones - sadly they are only accessible when the bed is down! 🤷‍♂️

No access to the main/biggest locker (which is in the boot) from inside the van (far from ideal in UK weather) ☔

Agreed.

After all one size does not fit all
;)
and this one definitely doesn't fit me!

Edit:
PS. I thought the quality was great (even if TV viewing would be a challenge)...

I nearly switched off but persevered
I have always said a drop down bed with my vans layout would be perfect
But he kept saying loads of storage I don't think so all under bed storage appears to have been lost to electrics and water
No wardrobe mine can have shelves or hanging space
Huge overhead storage above cab with a door so small you can't put anything in

But if the layout was the same as my 18yesr old van but moved the electrics towards the boot to release underbed storage

My cheque book would be out.

Going to look to see how much they are .....

Shame as i like the van

Some slightly concerning news. Simon Howard/Select Motorhomes appear to be no longer associated with the brand. Remember that Peter Vaughan picked up the van from Simon. Let's respect him if he prefers not to explain the reason why.

That explains why I didnt get an offer on my px against the larger 680s (but not a call to explain) but did get a decent offer from Go European.Tempted however no opportunity to see one in the flesh so would need to go out to the factory as experience says you really need to get into the actual vehicle. They only have a handful of dealers (all a fair distance away from us) and one (albeit really responsive one) seems a bit of a micro business and could not take a px nor could one of the others. The larger vehicle on the MAN also has a high tv and no wardrobe but not a deal breaker.Seat bases apparently quite narrow which reiterates to need for a proper viewing.
Sitting on my hands for a bit
