We got a pet passport last year in Belgium for our lab.

Is there anything we need to do before we go across the channel in a couple of weeks other than just present the passport?

Coming back I assume she still has to have the worming tablet?

No. So long as the rabies jab is up to date. Worming has to be done for UK return and entry into Norway ( if you are going that way).

Did you return to the UK on the passport or use the AHC?
If you did then no difference when returning again.
Outbound for the tunnel present passport at pet-passport control, scan microchip, have a great time. Not used a ferry so unsure of that procedure.

That’s about it.
Used our pup’s passports about 8 times now without issues, got them from a Belgium vet.
When we came back last September the Belgium vet we used for their tablets was surprised to see where their passports were issued so don’t know if they have clamped down like France

A big fat NOooooo. The only entry a UK vet can do is a wormer if you are going out and returning within the 5 days.
You need an EU vet to administer and annotate the rabies.

Like most eu vets there is a lot of grey areas that their respective bodies don’t want or cannot be bothered to clear up.
Havent heard of anyone yet being refused travel from a none country pet passport, the Belgium lady fetthat did ours didn’t even put an address in as it is not a requirement

Not entirely correct,if say you were taking your dog out of the country for the weekend a UK vet can enter the worming treatment necessary for the return journey.

I think it was 4-5 days you are allowed out but the UK vet has to give a worming tablet before travel

Yes,and enter the details into the EU passport if you have one

Please do NOT get any entry in your passport in the UK, not one. It can cause problems when you re-enter EU.
Your Rabies injection MUST be done abroad and beware, the time it is valid for depends on which country it is given in!
We have a separate document for all UK injections etc.
