Chausson 530
Hello everyone!

Not really a newbie but finally decided to join as a full member and take advantage of the subs discount offer.

A year on and we’re still looking for the elusive perfect replacement for our much loved Chausson.

Following a visit to the NEC a few weeks ago I think we’ve settled on the 7m Pilote Atlas 690g (or maybe a 2024 696g which looks identical if we can find one in stock at the right price).

The Pilote website (as did the Pilote stand at the NEC) shows the Atlas 690g has a 700kg payload, I realise this is the base vehicle before any options etc. However the Pilote configurator shows a payload of 365kg before you add any options, such as an oven and awning! Anyone know why these numbers are so different? I’ve read the small print but no clues!

Were both on 3.5t car licences so payload is going to be important factor for us. Does anyone have a Pilote Atlas 696g and know the actual weights?

Also interested to know any general thoughts from any Pilote owners, particularly on build quality, warranty issues etc.

Many thanks

Unfortunately the only way to find out is to get your chosen van taken to a weighbridge before you buy one.Pilote will have taken a sample van from the range and use that as a base to work from but as you know there are many variations within the range!
