Can anybody advise me as to whether these are any good for hard ground ie Spanish camp sites?
If they are useful kit is it advisable to use a power drill to get them into the ground?

Have read some unfavourable reviews and them breaking.. haven't tried them..

when we were in Spain on Roquetas camping site for the winter, the ground was like concrete, almost impossible to knock in a normal metal peg.. so I purchased a bag of 6 inch nails.. and a 2lb club hammer.. no more problems.. (y)

Have a set with the awning plates. As mentioned no good to use straight into the hard standing. I take a 10mm long drill bit. Use this to pilot hole then use 8inch nails with caps to drive home

We have the plate system and had to buy the metal pegs for Spain, as the plastic ones were only good on grass I :)also bought a lump hammer.

We have their stuff. In particular the hard metal screws that are bashed in using a club hammer then unscrewed to get them out of the ground. I would highly recommend them. I also have a masonry bit to drill hols for steel pins. Finally the awning leg plates from Peggy Peg that lock over the waning leg feet are one of my favourite accessories.
