I bought myself a Raleigh Misty when I was 12/13 to go to school on (6 miles each way) as my Vindec Vogue shopper was just too heavy to take over the railway pedestrian bridge ... I still have the Misty in the garage although it's in a bit of a neglected state! 
It is virtually identical to the ladies' Nova with the exception that my gears were on levers on the frame itself so an older design, very lightweight and excellent bikes to ride.
