Hello friends! I am quite interesting in picking up a second motorhome and have my eyes on a 1999 Mobilvetta Euroyacht 180lx. I'm trying to find out what the payload is. I can not seem to find it anywhere online. My concern is that currently the van does not have solar and so that will obviously be a fairly heavy addition. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

solar does increase the payload, but i doubt it would be 'a fairly heavy addition', if you also fit a lithium leisure battery then the total weight is likely to be similar or under your existing weight plus you then get all the advantages of lithium and solar ....🍿

Best to get the seller to weigh it before you commit.
If it is on the 4250kg chassis payload should be reasonable.
Thanks for that. Just a quick one and I apologise for the ignorance but with a 4250kg chassis would that not mean that it would then be a C class as it is over 3500kg? I'm still trying to wrap my head around that one.

C class refers to a coachbuilt where the original cab remains and A class is built using just the chassis and running gear. Also you will need a C1 license to drive over 3500kg.

Even if you did find a weight from the converter, you could not trust it.
You would have no idea on what had been added or taken away, ie towbar, battery changes etc.
As said solar does not really add that much to the weight. A 100W panel maybe 8-10 kg...

You really need it weighed empty..

Add on.. can't see it being 4250 as it's 1999. May even be less than 3500kg as some motorhomes of that era came as 3400kg. Need to check max weight for license required.

If it’s built on the Fiat Iveco chassis with rear wheel drive, you’ll struggle to stay under 3.5 tonnes. Also they used a lot of wood in those days. Not sure these days, but back then Italian built motorhomes came from the factory overweight but still got registered as drivable on a car licence. Italian authorities only care about what’s written in the reg doc.

If the seller wants the sale then as has been said get him to put it over a weighbridge but look at the time and date on the ticket 👍
I might want to be there when it's weighed, seller could easily remove table, mattresses, gas bottles, cushions, empty all the tanks, take the loo cassette out, hab batteries etc just to make it look good.
