Pay and display sunbeds!!!!!

Gran Canaria has introduced pay and display sunbeds it seems. The payment system which resembles a parking meter are situated at each sunbed!!!
Another thing to add to the list of things I wouldn’t pay for;

Supermarket delivery
Take away delivery
Sunbed (but I am/was ginger)

I would not pay for those things, especially the sunbed.

What annoys me is that in some countries some of the best beaches are wall-to-wall sunbeds, covering beautiful sand which I would like to lie on.

In Greece it has been discovered that, where a operator has a licence for 30 sunbeds, they have been extending it to 70 covering the whole beach. The mayors who grant the licences have had many complaints and are now clamping down on the practice.

My favourite incident on this topic is about a Greek island I know well, and a remote beach (only accessible by walking 30 mins., or boat) where a very sleezy(my assessment of him) Athenian brought some sunbeds one year. This beach is favoured by people who like nature, so not many users and the presence of the beds was unpopular.

At the end of the season, Mr. Sleeze hired a boat to take the beds away. While the boat was rounding the point the beds miraculously fell overboard, never to be seen again, nor replaced.

Not sure supermarket and takeaway deliveries should be subsidised by punters collecting stuff
