Sent off an online passport application for #2 son ('C') on 5 September.

Used my phone to take his picture. Paid fifty four quid.

Two days later, I received the request to send off his old one. Did that.

Received an acknowledgment, two days later.

Yesterday, I was told by email that the application was successful.

Just received an email that it has been printed and will be sent in the next day or two.

Looking at about twenty days, start to finish. Only left the house once to walk forty yards to the pillar box.
Brilliant service.

We did our's at the beginning of the year sent off at the same time they went to different processing centres but both came back quickly. It seems only at busy times they have a backlog

When I did mine before Covid it took 5 days did wife's last year took 3 weeks still quick compared to DVLA.

Good to hear reports of good service there are plenty about poor service. They always say people who are happy tell one or two but the unhappy ones 10 or 11.

It is always the case about everything though. Good to see the passport office getting back to near normal is my the on it

Just applied for a new passport on line using photo ID from a photo booth - all very straight forward. Need passport for trip to Spain in Jan 23 so hopefully this will allow enough time!

My only concern is that all passport issued now have to refer to HIS Majesty and not HER Majesty. Are passports printed individually or from stock "blanks"? I just hope that the Passport office will not have to wait for a new batch.

Did our daughters in June, it took 11 days from start to being delivered. Couldn't fault it. I chose normal service as I believe everyone going for fast track was delaying the fast track service!

Maybe it would be sensible to just use up the old stock as all those in circulation are unlikely to be changed until the renewal date or it could be they already had some in stock in France.

Agree with Wino, it would be sensible to either use up old stock or to have had some others in stock. However, not sure UK agencies are sensible. Not been able to find any info on what will be happening anywhere.

We had to get jay a new passport ten days with check and send.
