Passport don’t believe this

Tbh all my multiple and many dealings with DVLA have been equally as prompt too

I Applied for mine several years ago, lots of paperwork and an interview, but picked it up on monday.

Received my renewed passport within 8 days.

When my wife bought her new car recently the dealer, for some unknown reason, put the wrong surname on the V5 Application Form. It took eleven weeks to get the mistake rectified.

It is not like for like, two different kinds of business. I live near enough to get my DVLA problems sorted almost on the same day or at least very quickly. But that is attending in person. Not by post to a huge organisation who are governed by vehicle and health laws and have to make sure they are correctly dealt with.
I have no connection with the DVLA but having to listen to the stick they have to take when sometimes it is not even their fault.

Mine only took 10 days, and they had to send it to me in the Canary Islands. Impressive service.
I posted mine from here on Tuesday & recieved old one back on Friday & new on the monday . wife did hers at the same time in the Uk on the monday & received old on wednesday & new on the friday (y)

we all used to be able to do that.It was called "local offices"🤷‍♂️

If you are going to shut them & centralise it all, it has to be better ,quicker & more efficient than the old system .It isn't, far from it.

I had a call this evening at 1910 UK time brom the passport office.

He asked me for date of birth, current address and address on previous passport

I thought these were the sort of questions that organisations ask to confirm who you are before discussing further. No, that was all he wanted and said all was OK. First time I had dealt with them from Poland so probably just checking I was not a Ukranian refugee, so fair enough - I am glad they are on the ball.

I sent the application by snail mail in early Decemberm but post from Poland to UK can take 10 days and then Christmas, so by the time the passport is printed and couriered back, which I requested, it could take another week to arrive. About what I expected from here.
