As above, how soon do you download the form when you come back to the UK ,or could I download the form now on my phone and fill it in before I leave my destination or after I have left.

Start an account and then complete form 48 hrs or less from your return journey.

You must complete and log it no more than 48 hours before the time you depart for UK (flight or ferry scheduled departure time).
So it doesn't matter when you access the form, just when it's submitted

You can complete some of it now, save it partially complete and then return to it and fill in the rest, submit it (and get the QR code) within 48hrs of checking in to return to U.K.

We have this to do next Tuesday, I’m under the impression that test results (72hr)
are needed to be able to complete the form .(amber country) unless someone knows otherwise?

We're travelling Monday so just completed our forms. No you don't need the results for the 72 hr test, but you need the number of your Day 2 test which you should already have purchased for when you get home....
