On first long trip
I see from their website that the public car parks at Faro airport are limited to 2.7m high. First off, anyone know if you could in fact squeeze a 2.8m high one in? I mean, anyone whose actually done it recently? Thought not. So anyone know where I could park my 2.8m Transit conversion to pick up my daughter? It's the only car I've got. If I get the damn thing wedged under a concrete beam it will just reinforce all Mayya's prejudices about my driving ability. I ask this because, you know when you go through Rouen there's this tunnel limited to, what is it it, 2.5 or 2.6m? Well, we've been through it. OK, some scraping noises, but no actual damage. We really are 2.780 m high. Solar panels. Thanks, Alan.

Could she not get a short taxi ride out the airport (no punn intended)

Hi, our van is a similar height and we have given up trying to park for a pick up.
It's still easy to find very short term parking near the airport entrance, and a taxi will make life easy! Good luck

To answer my own question: I just drove into the first car park, no barriers. Cost me 4 euros for an hour. So contrary to what the website says, no drama. Of course it could all change tomorrow...

But thanks for the advice. I didn't want an offsite park because her luggage was heavy. Chainsaw. Don't ask.
