Getting ready to install the Poynting antenna into the hole originally from my to antenna.
The only thing is the hole is 36mm and the thread on the Poynting is only 20mm.
what have other members used to ensure a good fit if they have followed this route?
I know a sealant could work but I would prefer another option if once is recommended.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

I did something similar. On the outside the sealing foam works fine. You can run a line of flexible mastic round the edge if you want, some people do that, but I didn't. On the inside I cut a circular piece of white hardboard about 100mm diameter, matches the white ceiling quite well, but it's in the wardrobe anyway so not very visible. Cut a 20mm hole in the centre obviously.

I spent an hour designing and 3d printing a collar to shim the hole with a flare at the bottom so it had something to push against when the nut was tightened.

What about using a piece of pipe insulation?

HI Guigsy, do you still have the design details, would be a great help.
Not mastered design yet, still on a learning curve with 3d.

It's 3 circles:
for the new antenna hole
the old hole
the diameter of the lip.

Then just extrude them out. Remember to leave half a millimetre of space for tollerances.

edit: Oh, and make it slightly less than the roof thickness. You want it to clamp the base of the antenna against the roof. Not for it to top-out on the shim.
