Overnightparking at Skipton and Settle

Just been to Skipton and saw some overnight parking spaces (you can also sleep in the van). Its also mentioned if you google it that there's the same at Settle but I haven't time to look for it at the moment

Situated near the canal. Coach Street can be accessed from Broughton Road, Gargrave Road or Water Street. Parking is available for cars and motorcycles. Public toilet facilities are available. See note re. building works above.

Normal charges and restrictions apply outside these times in accordance with the Order.
 
£5.50 very reasonable. Pity more councils don't adopt these schemes.
 
Stayed there twice. It's very convenient for Skipton town centre. Not stayed at Settle though. Same arrangement at Helmsley which is also a good stopover.

They will when they are convinced it is worthwhile - but the provision of facilities doesn't just happen by itself.
Constructive negotiation and highlighting the evidence is the way to go.
The more people can truly demonstrate the value to their own councils (or places they visit) the better.
