Overnight stop Portsmouth (1 Viewer)

We are travelling to Portsmouth from Cherbourg on 10th November and need somewhere to park up overnight before travelling on to Dartmoor. Thought a friendly pub might be a good option but all my searches are proving futile. Has anyone any suggestions?

I will second that. We use it regularly for ferry. Just remember as said to call the number and give them your reg number

and another vote for Port Solent, you can stay a maximum of 2 nights, as stated ring the very helpful security staff. We were there a couple of weeks ago, had the trailer on so wouldn't fit in any spaces, asked the security if they wanted us to disconnect the trailer they said no, just park along the hedge, we took up about 6 spaces. the car park is huge so there were no problems, and its free.
As stated there's no services but plenty of eateries and there a small shop with limited supplies but handy if you get stuck. Theres a big Tesco around the corner should you need anything else. Have a great trip.

We came back on Sunday from Bilbao and parked up at 6.30pm, our first time in a car park. We felt quite secure as there must have been 15 other motorhomes parked up. It has given us confidence to be a bit more adventurous with our overnight stays when we just want one night. Good Wetherspoon pub, The Alec Rose.

Watch out for the second sleeping policeman. It's vicious. Fortunately for me it just bounces the garden rubbish about and not the the Royal Doulton.
