Hi all
So we were off to France tomorrow, from Portsmouth to St Malo.
Today we were told the ferry was cancelled due to industrial action in St Malo.
We have managed to get a ferry to Caen, but it arrives at 10 pm. Can anyone help with a safe place to overnight, please? Any suggestions welcome!
Thanks,
Pete

Hermanville-sur-Mer is perfect and free parking within 10 minutes of leaving port and safe it’s on park for night normally use the stared parking but last time a couple of weeks ago we used La Ferme. It’s circled in photo. larger car park also free both are very quiet
It looks like you’re going into a housing estate but obviously not and it’s next to what looks like a new camping car park Aire being built

I have friends from Southern France that couldnt find anywhere at all two months ago to book. Because of the D-day landings thinks you'll struggle and might have to drive out a bit?

That’s very helpful, as we know the general area and should be able to find something.

Thanks guys,

Pete

We stayed at an aire in Collville Montgomery yesterday, it's one of the https://www.aireparkreservation.com/ ones, 13 euros a night. You can reserve but as everyone has said it's very busy in the Caen area. It's about a 10 minute drive from the port. Good luck in getting a spot.
