I need a new overcab window for our 2018 Chausson 640 as it warped. Apparently this is a common fault with all overcab windows if the blind is left fully closed. To my horror, I've been quoted £4,500 + fitting for the replacement at a local independent motorhome workshop, and slightly higher by the local dealer. This is because the window is bespoke to Chausson and not the same as other Trigano group motorhomes. The window is rectangular, whereas the majority of Trigano group are trapezoidal (wider at top than bottom, thanks google).

Any idea where I could source a cheaper or second-hand window? Anyone replaced it with a different type of window and have details? This is currently a serious dent in our holiday fund.

Thanks in advance

There was a post last year about a similar issue where the member came up with a solution to reprofile his overcab window. I seem to recall it had something do with applying heat and pressure in a certain sequence.

I remember it was a successful outcome but for the life of me, I can't find the post. Maybe someone who has a better memory than me can point you to the post to see if it's any help for your particular issue.

Found the post. Maybe it's if some help.
Thread 'Chausson 610 panoramic roof leaking' https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/chausson-610-panoramic-roof-leaking.285856/
Thanks, just read and the DIY repair maybe worth a try, although I don't know when we'll get sufficient sun in the UK. I wonder if diesel heating on max might work!

Searching for this post I got side-tracked on post https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/chausson-check-your-panoramic-front-windows.200034/ which references a Dometic wind-up replacement window. Can't find any details on model though.

There appear to be a few derivatives of the Chausson over cab window.

Earlier ones have two catches on the rear edge and later ones, from about 2018 ish have three catches on the rear edge. I've seen reference to the wind up version being fitted under warranty but have only seen one of this type on a 711, but I'm sure someone will put me right on this.

As for getting some heat onto the roof light, could you not put a fan heater pointing vertically at the roof light on the top of a set of step ladders and slowly increase the heat before trying the DIY fix?
