Ouch. When technology doesn't cover idiots

It's been around for quite a while mainly on motorcycle forums, popular opnion is that it's fake.

Still funny though.
News to me. What’s the world coming to if you can’t trust fellow bikers 😩

Looks like I'm the only one upset. :(

Please God it is NOT real or his poor family must go through hell seeing that over and over in yheir minds.

I've just run the collision back and foward a few times. There's an obvious shadow to the left of the bike but not the van. There's some blacking out of details on the van around the front wheel and side window (bearing in mind that's where the drivers arm and clothing would show) and all the details of the motorcyclist merge into one shapeless black blob on impact. I think we can enjoy the ironic humour without being concerned about the chap on the bike.

Apparently it was done by a team promoting a safety campaign

I knew something was up when he set off without looking right and then was quite slow pulling away ... thank goodness it wasn't real but it made me jump and go "Ooooooooooccchhhhhhh!"

and the ficticious TV channel is called RTC

Yup it was a fake from around 2009. The dead giveaway is the AI wasn't close to being capable of doing what was claimed back then.

I remember seeing it when it first did the rounds thinking I wonder what tech it is using. The bike looked too standard so I did lots of searching and couldn't find any details at all.

funny though in a weird way.

This is the earliest version I could find on youtube. Bit more at the end and higher quality.

Just did a google for Frieda Heinz again and seems it cost £10,000 to make and was made by Thames Police. Can't find anything to back that up though.

Why would Thames Police make it in German and on a road where everybody is driving on the right?
Dunno, to make it more convincing. Would you have believed it if it was a UK company making the tech and fake british TV station was "broadcasting" it?

Not certain it was Thames police which is why I said "Can't find anything to back that up though"

Another interview video, explaining the making :)
