How do you keep your garage in order?

Our garage is, I think, quite large (no idea exactly as I've not measured it) but it always seems full and everything is hard to get to. I'm obviously doing something wrong.

I suppose I'm looking for inspiration from people who seem rather good at garage tetris and pack a load in whilst having everything accessible. Seen some people with velcro walls, others with everything in small rucksacks hanging from hooks. Our biggest single items are 2 foldable bikes and a spare tyre (essential!), foldable chairs & tables & ramps.

Does anyone fancy sharing their garage organisation tips/photos?

Lots of ideas here

Totally agree.
2 ebikes, 2 chairs, safari cadac, tool box (sometimes) a bucket that contains electric lead and other ancillary stuff such as electric pump. Cant be bothered with ramps. Everything else is probably not necessary (IMV) but will be putting in a couple of bodyboards this time

I swear I searched before I posted! Turns out I can add "rubbish at searching the forum" to my list of special skills ...

Although mine is full and impossible to see the back of (no seen in 25yrs) I find separate piles work (most of the time)! 😆
Edit: Sorry, misunderstood, I thought you meant garages back home! 😆

All garages vary but our rear single bed layout means I have a large recess either side, I found some bakers stacking plastic trays that fit perfectly and have an open end, these are invaluable for storing medium size things and the top tray holds taller but lighter objects. On the rear wall I've put hooks to hold bags for shoes etc. In the centre is a home made hanging rail for coats etc. On a good day I can find most things easily.

Totally agree, but a bit surprised you don't mention the CNC lathe and the metric linear knurling cutters. Who travels without that?

Six boxes of books, three tables, two chairs, a Quest pop up awning, ten electric fence posts for marking out pitches, three various buckets, signage, a hundred and thirty cans of drink (not joking) a little table, two pairs of Crocs, a tool box.
I think, that's about it.
Oh!
A spare wheel and Jack and wheel wedges.

I'm happy I have no garage in my van, under the bed is full enough! 😆

Plastic posts with a spike to go into the ground. Farmers use them to attach tape that has an electric current through it to act as a barrier across a field to prevent movement of animals. (you given me a thought )
I use them to rope off an area of a field, or to mark out a rally field as an indication as to where "the next one" is placed. Simple really.

I've just moved some rarely used but JIC bits like foot pump, bottle jack, assorted fluids from the garage to the under settee stowage which is a bit awkward to get into but will extricating the e-bikes easier.
