Hi all, I have found a VT 750 Honda Shadow I would like to buy. The advertised price Is ok' (a little discount would help though)

My questions to you all Is:

Should I buy now or wait to purchase until after all the restrictions are lifted?

If so do you think the price's of cars and bikes will be less in a few weeks time when the world starts to get back to normal?

Cheers

Well at the moment most things have no value but then again it depends how desperate the seller is ?

I mean no offence but I have seen similar question on many forums and FB etc....

My answer is "sorry I have lost my crystal ball".

If we knew prices are going to crash then nobody would buy. If we knew prices were going to climb then most wouldn't sell.

April/May always popular months for buying/selling motorcycles but looking online at the moment plenty of bargains but unless you live very close by it can’t be classed as an essential journey.

Personally I would wait, the price of plant machinery etc is slowly dropping, and I do think in time their will be bargains of all sorts to be had.

When I buy things like motorbikes, the price is always high when I want one and low when I sell one. Don’t ask me.
Phil
You must buy and sell to the same people as me ?

Those of us who are lucky enough to live beyond this virus are understandably going to be a lot poorer due to a lack of work in the past and / or the decline in the share prices of pension pots and companies paying dividends into pension pots so the prices for items like this will probably go down to attract buyers.

Then again be ready to buy at the correct time before the government needs to increase VAT etc to help balance the books for the big payouts of late.

Hi Jev
I suppose what I am asking Is due to not many sales at the moment will the dealers have to discount in a couple of months to move on stock or not.

The bike is from a dealer and payment would likely be by bank transfer and delivery can be arranged if required but as I am In no hurry I would happily wait till we are released from our cells to collect.

With everyone under lockdown and not spending much there will be alot of cash around when we all get out and about!
If its what you have been looking for at a reasonable price,go for it.And try a cheeky offer!:winky:

If you want it, get it now. Spend the time in lock down polishing and modifying it. No one knows how long we have, even without the new boy on block.

Bought over seventeen grands worth of new Gixer Thou R - managed 40 miles so far this year?
That's about the time my joints would cope with one of them. (Had sports bikes in the past)

I'm a 65 year old teenager - I hope I will never have to give up riding sports bikes

That said, when the fuel light comes on after about 100 or so miles, I'm quite happy to stop, fill it up & stretch my legs

By sitting on your hands at the moment and not purchasing - you are extending the warranty period on your new bike purchase and saving on insurance.

Riding one is the best fun you can have with your clothes on! (y)

It's the first bike I've owned with with quickshifter & auto blip on downshifts

I wondered how good it was & if I'd miss blipping the throttle on downshifts

It's brilliant! When doing 130 mph in top & slowing for a tight bend it's wonderful to, at the last moment, grab the front brake and without using the clutch, slam the gear lever up (I run race shift) 4 times to second gear & have the ECU blip the throttle - smooth as silk ?

Mind you, getting back on my '72 honda race bike or Royal enfield continental GT535 is a whole different world!

Sounds an awesome bit of kit. I have a bog standard GSXR1000K7 and a GSXR1000L0.
Both great bikes to ride, but yours sounds like its on another level! (y)
