Opinions on 2006 Smart car as a tow car

Have found a very reasonably priced Smart car cabriolet, complete with A frame and was wondering if people had experience with these cars?

Loads of Smart cars as toads. IIRC the autos can’t be towed.

We had a 2016 smart and it was auto and could and was towed. The very latest models can’t be towed.
Smarts are light and easy to tow.

I've got a 56 plate smart , the 700 turbo , love it , they don't do speed bumps very well but they're fun to drive
The 1.0 turbo is faster , later cars have more normal car suspension and do speed bumps better
The 1.0 MHT is awful , slow and suffers from drivebelt problems than can cook the engine in a couple of minutes if it snaps and you don't stop immediately

Up to 2015 all SMART Cars with their robotic gearboxes can be towed. Ideal car to A Frame behind a Motorhome and you will always be able to park it even in Cornwall We have a SMART Diesel Cabrio and it is a great fun car with the bonus of doing 70mpg in rural areas.
