It seems such a long time ago and a lot has happened since, but this time last year I was sitting having lunch on a beach near Kylerhea, on the Isle of Skye, with a group of sea kayakers, having enrolled on a ‘tidal race’ coaching session on possibly the very last Scottish Sea Kayak Symposium.

At that time I had recently reached the first anniversary of being retired, I was single (awaiting my divorce) and enjoying my life of travelling and kayaking whenever I could, with like minded paddlers and travellers.

Last month saw the second anniversary of being retired, my divorce completed earlier this year and today marks a year long relationship with the lady that so rudely interrupted my lunch on that Kylerhea beach one year ago, when she came over to say hello.

I’m still enjoying my life of travelling and sea kayaking with like minded paddlers, but have an ever diminishing amount of cupboard space on my adventures and my single malt doesn’t seem to last half as long as it used to !

Glad you are enjoying life, and you have found happiness, just a pity about the single malt yy yy

So does that mean there should be two sea kayaks on the roof in your avatar;)

As your posts grew over the time you've been on this forum, it was obvious that you had previous issues in life but, it was very obvious that you were dealing with those issues in an admirable way.
Then it was clear that life began to click properly for you & your optimism was growing well.

I like many other folks on here have been through the same mill but, I'm a great believer that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, power to your elbow Ken, keep up the good work & the good life.

Robert.

I think he’s as good as he’s going to get, fully mobile but not as much as he should be at 6.5 years old. Sometimes walks like an old dog, but the main thing is, he still enjoys life :D
