Good Morning!

Can I ask if anyone has experience of visiting safari parks in their motorhome?

Is it allowed or are they considered too large?

Also have you nearby site recommendations for anywhere you might have used ?

Thanks in advance

May be worth seeing if the parks your looking at has their own tour buses.

Have been in car and we now take the detour to avoid the monkeys. Park close by and watch other people laughing as the monkeys ride on their roofs, not realising that other monkeys are dismantling trim, aerials etc.
So no chance of going through the monkey part!

There is a Caravan Club site at Longleat with a really good bus that takes you round the park. You get to learn much more from the commentary than you would driving yourself.

Many years ago I took and brand new company car round West Midlands Safari park. The monkeys bit chunks out of the integral boot spoiler.

Okay, funny related story.

Many many years ago a friend, who worked at the BLMC mini assembly factory, ordered himself a brand new mini, in a non-standard black finish. Being in quality control he followed it all the way through construction and of course it got "up-specced" a little on the way. Come the day he drove out with his shiny new pride and joy, gleefully showing off his new aquisition to all and sundry.

That weekend he decided to take his then girlfriend (later, wife) out for the day in the new car and thought a visit to the West Midlands Safari Park would be great. Wisely he decided not to take it through the monkey enclosure but instead drove it around the rest of the park to view, in particular, the elephants.

Unfortunately he got just a little too close and one, really quite docile, elephant sort of stumbled backward into the mini and sat on it's bonnet!

Apparently it took over half an hour for his insurance agent to stop laughing and process the claim!!!

We took our campervan round Longleat, not in the monkey bit 🐒🐒, with all the family crammed in ! We had long but not very high windows both sides in the high top roof so 2 adults had a great cab view, 3 kids sat/ knelt on the side benches looking out the side windows and 2 more adults standing looking out the opened top side windows. There didn’t seem to be any restrictions on vehicle size.

I can't imagine they would let my RV in as there are so many hiding places underneath with huge ground clearance I would end up taking some monkeys for a very long ride........
