I'm off Skiing in a few weeks to Austria and the pitches have an individual gas supply as well as EHU and water etc.

According to my 'back-of-a-fag-packet' maths, I think using Gas will be a lot cheaper than using electric for heating.
However, not sure how to actually connect the on-pitch supply to my gas system - I have an underslung tank (NOT Gaslow), but do have an external BBQ socket.
My thought was to rig up pigtail with a Bullfinch adapter one end and a 30Mb regulator at the other.
Or, try and 'T' it into the regulator in the Gas cupboard somehow.
Not sure if there are recommended maximum lengths to pig tails

Wondered if anyone else had done the same?

Could you contact the camp site and ask if they have a qualified/certified person that’s part of campsite that could do the connection, I’m sure others have been in same situation?
I guess it would be better to have it done before you arrive.
Hope you get it sorted .

Does the campsite info not state the type of connection that is required?

Is it a regulated supply so should bypass your regulator or does it need to go through your regulator?

Important questions which will dictate where and how it’s connected.

Found this info; looks like they supply the hose and connection:

  • Gas bottle exchange with delivery service
Forget about hauling heavy gas bottles and the chore of swapping gas bottles in the middle of the night: on our Comfort and Comfort Plus pitches, you have the possibility of connecting to our gas supply. We will make the connection for you, and will provide a gas hose free of charge. This way, you will have a warm caravan for your entire stay - without having to worry about the gas supply.

Of course, you can also swap or buy 5 kg, 11 kg or 33 kg gas bottles from us. We will be happy to deliver the bottles to your pitch.

That image shows connecting to the camp supply with an on/off valve to a regulator then to a T joint inside your own 30mBar regulator

I would have thought it simpler to remove one cylinder pigtail and join in there with a longish pigtail from the supply

Won't it be like connecting a domestic gas oven, just a low pressure site supply via a flexi hose? Never seen one,but anywhere with snow on the ground would get a wide berth from our bus.
Mike.

It would be high pressure until it got to the regulator.

I believe some are low pressure connections.
I would check with the campsite directly to check, here’s a translation of what one campsite has to say :
HOW DOES THE DIRECT GAS CONNECTION WORK?

At the Comfort and Comfort Plus seats you have the possibility to connect directly to our gas system. The annoying gas cylinder exchange is thus eliminated and you always have a warm caravan. We provide the gas hose and connect the hose to you. Please note that a connection is only possible with caravans with 30 mbar. Likewise, a connection with a built-in Duomatic or Duocontrol is only possible if a shut-off valve and a connecter piece are available after the Duomatic/Duocontrol. If such a connection device is not available, the Duomatic/Duocontrol would have to be removed beforehand, since the direct connection to the Duomatic/Duocontrol is not possible for technical reasons.

Please note that the purchase or completion is only possible between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

It appears to be a low pressure supply so wouldn’t be suitable for connection through another regulator.
Maximum permitted pigtail length is 750mm , any longer can result in reliquefaction ⚠️

If the are supplying the equipment, their drawing shows a 50mb regulator that will ruin your jets as your van will be set up to run at 30mb (50mb is the old German standard up to 2002), maybe just an old drawing that's not been updated. Also not supposed to use a flexible hose over 1.8m.

Edit:
See Basildog above post.

Yes it looks like they are saying their connection is only suitable for 30 mbar systems.
Over 20 years of 30mbar regulators on leisure vehicles now 👍

Connect it to your external gas bbq point
Site we stayed at Grubhof did it for us
Loads cheaper than lecky especially when it was-18

Yes that’s a workable solution but not technically correct as all manufacturers specifically state that they are gas outlets , not to be used as an inlet.
My suspicion is it is covering themselves from the lunatics that would connect directly to an unregulated gas cylinder ⚠️🤬

I know you can get a hose from a maxi bottle top connection on cylinder at full bottle pressure direct to a refillable input. Effectively using and external bottle to refill your refillable. That then uses your existing regulator to control the pressure.
Probably not what you need but may be a solution for some.
