Extra high top LWB...
Looking to future proof with a EURo 6engine...and second hand Automatic Extra high roof LWB 2016 and later are as rare as rocking horse poo. X high top being needed to accommodate an electric lifting bed. Someone please talk me out of it....or congratulate me on a superb choice van to convert....eeek !!!

I dont think anything with a diesel engine is future proof. There will no doubt be a new standard in a year or two if diesels aren't banned altogether.

That would be my choice if going for a self convert van now , have owned quite a few vans at times over the years , would pick two makes that were absolute best Ist was a Freight rover V8 high roof , and the next would be iveco lwb high roof . only downside with the Freight rover was fuel consumption , and the iveco was the daft 2 stage close electric door windows ! apart from that both were just fuel service and drive . :)

Great van strong engine and running gear, there are lots of options though so think carefully and make sure to get it right.

They can't ban diesels that quickly. They can ban the sale of new cars, albeit at huge economic and electoral cost, but they cannot ban the sale of delivery vans and trucks because there is no replacement and the economic shock would be even bigger, which is not exactly what anyone needs right now.

Wait a few months. In september when everyone will think they come back from vacation and go back to work, quite a few people will discover the job is not there anymore. Than in January with the end of an accounting cycle, we'll start to see the real damage to the economy.

The money to finance the green dreams has simply vanished thanks to the lock-downs.

What about the new VW crafter.

Smooth engine, quiet cab and good to look at.

Galvanised body if I'm not mistaken too.

That would be my choice if I were building again.

Cheers James
