I only got a single gas bottle in my motorhome when I purchased it second hand and it has run out. I've been given a full 15kg Butane bottle. Is it OK to use or should I stick with the original 6kg Propane? It does physically fit, I guess it would need a new regulator if so. Man
Butane is no good in winter as it does not gas off around freezing point.
A bottle mounted regulator is different to a propane one as it is a different fitting to the bottle, but I am not sure if the wall mounted regulator needs changing too. I never use butane.
If its a bottle mount reg its different for Butane if its a bulkhead reg you need a different tail. This time of the year Butane will be fine. We have underslung tanks the summer can be a mix of the two in the winter most places use propane as it gases off at lower temps.
The clip on adaptor fits the blue bottle. the pol adaptor fits to the clip on and std pol pigtail to adaptor.
when i did it it was financialy worthwhile
I am currently running on Spanish Butane as I urgently needed a bottle whilst in Spain and couldn’t obtain Propane at the time, luckily the adapter is the same on Spanish gas so should be ok until it gets cold then swap back over to Propane.
