Shell Island hold an annual Oktoberfest which is fabulous and this year we've booked for 21st and 22nd October. The festival starts around 7pm on the Friday with lots of beer, dancing and traditional German singing. Lots of people dress up and really get into the spirit of the weekend.
The cost is £18 per night for 2 adults, dogs are £4 for the weekend and you depart on Sunday when you've sobered up! There is no EHU and they don't allow generators.
Shell Island don't allow rallies so you'd have to book yourself via their website as they don't take phone bookings, it does fill up really quickly. http://www.shellisland.co.uk
I'm happy to keep a list of those that want to join us if you let me know when you've booked.
For those who've never been Shell island is about 6 miles from Harlech on the Welsh coast. It's got miles of fantastic sandy beaches and if you're lucky you'll see the Dolphins. They have 450 acres of camping for 800 people but allow only 600 when the festival is on as the locals join in too. Only tents and Motorhomes, no caravans and RVs welcome. The site is really relaxed, you can have campfires on the beach, bring your boat to launch, go on sea fishing trips. There is a restaurant/takeaway, ice cream parlour and shop on site.
