Good morning all,
I'm pretty new to all of this so please bear with me. I'm considering buying a Auto-sleeper corinium RB on a 18 plate, which I know is 160BHP I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the real fuel consumption is?
When taking it for a test drive I noticed the oil-light intermittently flashing usually you get a message on the screen telling you a service is due or oil change, but nothing like that appeared I know the Peugeot boxer can be sensitive regarding warning lights.

I would be a tad concerned for an oil light showing on a test drive. Did you check the oil level? Is the oil dirty?. Do the oil pressure lights all show up when you turn on the ignition.?( should be 5 bars)

As above ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

also in the review ... payload could be a problem ..

"The Corinium RB is on a 3,500kg chassis, but payload is restricted to just 263kg – and that’s with no water in the tanks. This might work, with care, given that it’s purely a two-traveller motorhome, but the weight issue would be a nagging concern."

If you’ve got a pair of decent running shoes, put em on and walk away 👟

Goodness knows what historical services have been done. If it’s low oil, then again, who knows what premature damage may have been caused.

Also bear in mind the Corinium has a large rear overhang, something you need to be conscious of when turning.

thanks for your reply. although I joined this site some years ago I haven't really used it.
Do you know much about the fuel consumption it seems a difficult one to find out with motorhomes?
With the Auto-sleeper RB which runs on a 2 litre euro 6 engine, and the MVW being 4000 kg. I know Auto-sleeper have a club, but l don't want to subscribe until I have decided to purchase one.
Kind regards

Fuel consumption will depend on the driver. If you are in a hurry it will be worse than if you take your time, accelerate gently, and stick below 60 mph. It also depends on tyres, proper maintenance, full payload, kit mounted on the roof affecting aerodynamics, etc.

I don't know what is typical for the AS Corinium. I would expect anywhere between 23-29 mpg with cab aircon on, but that is only my guess.

I am presuming if you were doing the test drive this will be a dealer sale not private due to insurance

It is possible the oil is just a little low , that is why they fit a warning light, I would say the majority of us don’t check our oil levels very regularly , I certainly don’t

Did you check the oil level? How low was it, are you sure it was an oil light, I think it might be red not orange

I remember my trip to Norway, parked at artic circle visitor centre , when I went to start engine display said low oil add 1.5 litres 😳 I was horrified rang Mertrux expecting to be told I had a big problem adding it sounded like a lot of oil to add

Their reply, just go to a garage add 1.5l oil, dont worry, not many van drivers check their oil Mercedes build in a decent safety margin

I know this isn’t a mercedes but it still might be a simple issue, no need to run away just be cautious

We had a Bessacar same engine and weight first 20,000 miles 24-25 after that went down to 22 Fiat could not work out why but said it was common on some of those engines to do that with no explanation as to why.
