Just had my two year old Ford Transit based MH serviced by Arnold Clark. Was charged £142 just for the oil. Filters etc were on top (£35) seems like a lot for oil. Any thoughts. Not mechanically minded

Wow that sounds expensive 😳
Just done an oil change ( myself) on my 2013 transit engined Citroen jumper
Filter £5 on eBay oil from Halfords £30 ish
I don’t let anyone do work on my van that I can do myself!
Although nearly 66 I’m struggling a bit to fit the air assist suspension bags 😐

I presume labour was on top.

For my ducato a Decent oil cost £70 and £20 for mahle filter.

90 to 175 just for materials.

I do it myself for known quality not because its cheap.

WOW. They must have used oil with traces of gold in it.
