I read on Fun that off-site parking (aka wild camping or freeloading) is not allowed in Portugal any more.

If this is the case the GNR are going to be busy in Silves this weekend!

I assume these vans can't get on any of the three "official" aires which must be full.

It's the Silves Orange Festival this weekend...

I don't suppose they use the fountain and manhole anymore. 🤔 Bob

Nobody cares, it might be a bit different in mid summer, but not much. The only place I have seen them keen is beach car parks in the high season

I wonder whether with that number of MHs flouting the 'no wilding' rule the Chief of Police decides that his resources are better used in tackling other crime.

I think it’s much more pragmatic. This time of year, in that car park it’s really not a problem and it is bringing money into the local economy. Totally different story in August in a busy beach location. Having said that, even in August you see campers tucked away in quiet corners without any issues.

We are wild camping all along the Algarve, with occasional aire stops, with no problems so far.

Even in Albufeira there are some nice stopovers.

May head over to Silves in the morning.

Arrived in Silves for Orange Festival and it is a bit manic. Looks like a good weekend planned.

All spots full in town for our 8 meter MH so we have found a massive open car park over by the castle.

Most Brit vans I have seen in a while here. All vans and no cars so good news as I don’t want a ‘dink’ in my side.
