We have just got a (new to us) Hymer and been out in it for first time. The batteries are truly shot, after a short while with just a radio on the voltage dropped to 12.7, then 12.2.

On our previous Hymer I installed new solar panels, Exide GEL batteries (recommended by Lenny) and a Schaudt LRM1218 which worked very well and we hardly ever used all the available power. Although I'm not an electrician, it was fairly easy to install.

This time we want solar/lithium, my knowledge of this sort of install is way beyond my capabilities. Living way up in the Highlands, we are restricted on installers, so we wondered whom we could trust to do the job properly so I contacted Offgrid, as recommended on here, they sent me a quote and after a discussion, we have just about settled on a new system install.

They sound very helpful and nothing I asked was a problem to them, so we are setting a date for install and a 1000 mile round trip, for early October. Meanwhile we'll have to go careful on power in the Hymer. Now just need to get the wife out to earn enough to pay for it all !!

Offgrid know their stuff!

But if you installed Gel etc.... already once, then you have most of the knowledge you need.

We have just done a 400 mile round trip to them for some work, well worth it.
Could you not combine it with a break in the area, that will also then give you a chance to test the system out.
