Burstner Travel Van
Exp
Newbie - bought first MH 11/03/2023
Having followed threads and asked questions all over the place, I now have off-grid power in my Travel Van 🤩

Want to be able to power TV - Remoska oven - Ninja air fryer - Dometic dual zone fridge/freezer (installed in rear garage)

I sourced 4 quotes and went with Ian Jordan at Vanward UK - he is based at Tiveys Farm, Shackerstone - roughly halfway between Loughborough & Nuneaton.

Main components:
Blue Sea isolation switch
Mega fuse & holder - 500 amp
Victron Orion TR Smart NI- 12/12-30amp B2B charger
Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/120 Charge Controller + starter Batt trickle charger
DC solar isolater
3 x 100W Monocrystalline Solar panels
Victron Multiplus 3000W inverter
Victron Lynx Power IN busbar distribution system
Victron Digital Multi Control
Victron Smart Shunt
Victron Smart battery protect 65 amp
2 x Victron Superpack 12v 100 Ah LiFePO batteries

Plus loads of sundries I haven’t listed.

Supply and fit all the above: £5,943.95
(I’m new to all this, but seems to be a sensible price for quality hardware)

So I should now be able to go wherever I like & stay as long as I like without needing to access campsites or EHU 😀

PS: my MH is a 6 metre Burstner Travel Van 570 - very compact so loss of storage space was a concern.

The big 3000w inverter went under the drivers seat and everything else went under the unbelted side seat.

Lovely van and a great set-up.
From my research, kit and prices seem bang on, but I am by no means an expert on this.
I will be looking though at a 4 berth type van for the future, ideally with a drop down bed and MUST have 4 seat belts.
Do like your set up though. :giggle:

I'll stick with gas for cooking and watch TV on my tablet to save £6K.....
Yep, another good , simple option.
But there are occasions when I would need EHU type power, ie festivals, rallies for example, which we are currently restricting our use of without any power upgrading.
It's just our personal choice.

It’s a home away from home so we want ours to work like home, we have a similar but different set up to the OP so good on him for getting it the way he wants, looks good value, compared to ours it’s a steal😄

I would LOVE mine to be a home away from home, but don't think there is any portable system that I could get in my van to power the sauna, hot-tub, gym, dishwasher and washing machine.
Oh, and an illuminated dance floor for when I eventually get on a funster rally!
Who knew? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

My vehicle has 4 belted seats - fixed transverse rear bed over garage - make-up double bed in mid Hab area - and all in 6 metres.

Can even park sensibly in a supermarket car park 😃

The Burstner doesn’t have an oven - and I generally do quite a lot of oven cooking.

Plan is to spend 6 months + per year on the road, so trying to have as many conveniences as possible.,

Oooooooh....................this now puts one of those on the possibilities list.
I learn something new every day, and am discovering more and more models that I would perhaps overlooked, or made assumptions were going to be the wrong layout.
Have " discussed" (?) with Mrs YP suitable layouts and drop down beds were where we were heading, but I prefer a fixed rear bed solution for mainly us two, with the option of making one up when the grandapprentices travel with us.
I think Mrs YP is also quite taken with the extra headroom/ space afforded by the configuration of the front end, with swivel front seats and a more airy, open and inclusive living area.
But I am open to considering all aspects, but would not have another over cab permanent bed ( big bulbous front end type).
TOO high to climb in and out of nowadays.

Two adults did 3 nights on the make up bed and said they were very comfortable.
