Octopus agile

Yep lots of great prices at the moment! Love being paid to use electric too (y)

The negative prices are the middle of the day again, my batteries have been toppers by 1100 so still not worth moving from either go tariffs. 😔
I'd expect middle of day all year, the solar farms which everyone hates are very productive in summer, and on a high wind day there is too much energy on grid (today biomass/gas was down to as little as 2GW at times). Tommorow it'll be less!

Given there are still more solar and wind being built to be enabled this year, I wouldn't expect Ocotpus to keep paying decent rates on export on Solar given it's often negatively priced now.

Unfortunately that is the issue with Agile at the moment, prior to last autumn there were decent prices overnight which made it worth while. Until the overnight prices come down I'll be staying on go.

As for solar export I agree, luckily I've just renewed my solar export for 12 months!

I think if you have solar, and a battery, and export at peak times, you'll still do well on rates, but I wouldn't be putting Solar on a house now and expecting decent returns. The market seems clear, without batteries thats a fools errand.

Yeah, the issue I had with Agile and why I switched (temporarily I hope) to Go was the overnights, I've recently had to do a lot more business mileage and as such needed to charge more, and paying 22-25p overnight was just too much to bare, given the car is 50-60% of all my usage. If I was doing like my father, small trips and didn't need to reguarly charge a full charge overnight would be different. (As an exmaple I know I'll need a 100% chagre of 64kwh next Weds, and next Sunday, due to travel we are doing). Thats on top of a charge away from home. 128kwh in 7 days of car charge, when the entire house only uses 70kwh a week gives an example of my problem. Should add we don't usually drive 750 miles in a week, but when we do, we do use a lot of power to do so.

Interested to know where / what tariff you have renewed your solar export for 12 months, and at what rate?

I'm on Octopus Flux and my standard daytime export rate went down on 1 April, whereas the daytime import rate went up. 🤔

Outgoing Octopus 15p

Flat rate?

I get a bit of a premium for any solar export 4pm - 7pm (29.22p), but standard daytime now only 10.2p.

Since our array faces south-east, 15p flat rate sounds a great price. I think I might investigate that further. 👍

Yes flat rate.

Even though the 29.22p is good I generally am using at that time, dinner, showers etc so the flat day rate works best for me.

Maybe as the days get longer it may change as would still be producing then.
