Interested in any recommendations for the reasonably priced OBD scanner/reader, suitable for a Ducato. Don't need one at the moment but reading some recent threads on this here forum, sounds like one would be a practical investment.

Thanks

To read fiatcodes not just Generic stuff the best diy solutions are multiecuscan or alfa obd both available in a Windoze version, alfaobd also as android. UK distributor for multiecuscan is Gendan, fiat's will not work with cheap Bluetooth dongles, for about £25 ebay seller in Porthcawl vgate bt4. a yellow adapter is also needed to read some of the other ecus .either of these Software is required to reset oil life/ service for a euro6.

Got a cheap one from Gendan and does what I need. There are two very different directions. Pay loads of money, and have something far more than you can understand, but tends to need a laptop to go with it, or go cheap, be able to read reset basic codes, all with your mobile, and have the money in your pocket IF you get a bigger problem.

If you have a euro6 things are slightly more complex if you do your own oil change/ service. There are oil resets that diy are currently only done by multiecuscan and alfaobd. The cheapest method to accomplish this is alfaobd and dongle less than £60. It can do all the Fiat things that cheapest can't do, with a yellow adapter you can access all the other ecus Inc body and airbag.
