Hi, all does anyone know of a "standard" OBD reader can be used on a Smart 451 , or does it need the Mercedes converter thingy?
TIA
Cheers, Dave

I think OBD ports are all standard so even a cheap reader will be able to pull some data - however it probably won't pull the data particularly well (I have a cheap one and it's pretty much useless) and it certainly won't let you do things like clear airbag codes.

Depends on what you want it to do really, but a cheap one isn't going to be good, and a good one isn't going to be cheap.

Our 452 Roadster needs DAS/Xentry to do anything worthwhile via the OBD port. I used a grunt Bluetooth device and some random software to do some 0-60 stuff but just ended up adding 5k to the Speedo so be very careful with non Merc diagnostics

I find a cheap one from Temu at around £12 does most things on my vehicles including on an older Smart (2010). Gives a fault description usually but if an odd BMW one for example just a code which can be looked up on the Web.
Please no criticism of using Temu.
