Hi All,

We are planning a trip around Scotland over the Xmas period and looking for somewhere to park up for 1 x night in Oban. Can anyone with local knowledge shed some light on this for me as there seems to be little in the way of parking up in Central Oban?

There is/was a lorry/coach park next to Tesco where motorhomes are/were also allowed to park. However I'm not sure if they allow overnight parking. For information there is another, larger, carpark just on the north side of the town but again don't know about overnighting. Not a lot of help I know but we usually only stay a couple of hours for shopping etc. and park in Tesco.

The parking apps used to have a couple of ideas but when we looked at them we decided they were unsuitable for overnighting.

Edit - Just checked Google Earth, weight limit 1.5t except in coach park

If nothing turns up, search on fb page Scottish Motorhome Campervan Adventures - it's a very common location question.

Yes that’s the 4 bays. You can overnight there ok. If any spaces. I live 10 miles from Oban. 👍🌟

Second vote for North Ledaig. Not in Oban but less than 15mins away.

Looking at the photo of the sign on searchforsites it appears not to allow overnighting?

Always thought signage ambiguous, have stayed over the other motorhomes were also occupied, discretion is the key

You can overnight.
Says no sleeping in vehicles.

Yes I get that but just clarifying that it's not like one of the campra ones or a council that's open minded where it's allowed to overnight.
Just pointing it out as not everyone is happy to bend the rules through stealth, or be called an FLT :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Signage has changed since we were last there over 10 years ago
