Hi👋

after my previous experience ( feel free to have a read at my previous post if interested) where we had to return/reject a Ci Cipro Garage on Mercedes base (SprintShift) Motorhome for the reason that was in a very bad state on which we should hopefully receive our money back next week we started to think on what e where we should look next ??

We’ve been a bit put off initially after the first experience with the above purchase especially after so many mentioned that CI are a budget van which are very prone to damp…

Now we know that due to our budget (around £27K) we’re not going to find a pristine van so we’re happy to compromise as long as it’s in good condition, DRY & well serviced/looked after

The main must have are:

-Automatic gearbox (wife only drive auto and we both have family in Europe so we will be (hopefully) doing lots of Europe touring)
  • Garage at rear (we have 2 dogs and wish to convert part of this into a kennel for them)
  • rear fixed double bed above garage
-3/4 birth 4 seatbelts
-large fridge- freezer
- bathroom with separate shower
-3500 Kg (no current holding a C1 license)

So we’ve seen this models
  • Burstner T star 695
  • Geist phantom
  • or again go for another Ci Cipro Garage ?

All of the above are based on the Mercedes Sprinter Chassis which we could get with the SprintShift box (I’m aware that this boxes can come with their own faults if not looked after/serviced properly but like I said the auto box it’s pretty much a must for us)

Anyone has any recommendations on the above models or suggestions on which to pick a why ?

Or

Any other suitable models that fulfil the requirements?

Many thanks

The Burstner is the best option of the 3 but I don't see how you could run a van over 7m long at 3500 kg especially on a Merc chassis.
You said you wanted 3 or 4 seat belts so if you had 4 people in it and the dogs you would probably be nearly over weight without anything else.

The payload is given as 480 kg which is quite low and being a German it will have several accessory packs added reducing the payload by 100 kg or more. Then any extras such as an awning, solar panels 2nd battery just those 3 you would lose another 80 kg maybe more, also the auto box will be a few more kg.

I think you need to look at smaller vans or take your C1.

Hi

Yes I’m aware of that and the limited payload

It’s only 2 of us reason for the 4 seatbelts is looking ahead (just in case)

I am going for the C1 license in the next year or so so that would solve all the problems.

I would ask the dealer for a weighbridge ticket with both axle weights and make sure you know state it is in when weighed. How much fuel driver on board when weighed etc.
