Looking at the programme/plan for Lincoln show, there's not many motorhome dealers this year... No big names... I thought the last few years were poor, but this could be the worst. Looks like there's quite a few other stalls though.

There are not many MHomes available for sale, particularly new ones.

Called in at SMC Newark at the weekend and they had a quite few 2nd hand ones. but even they are not on the list for the show. used to be always a good offering from them.

It was the same at Shepton Mallett last week. Only 3 or 4 dealers selling motorhomes, with little to sell, but lots of "Campervan Converters" offering bespoke conversions.
The accessory dealers seemed to be doing a good trade, they even managed to get into my wallet.

Yes, You are correct it's not the easiest way to trade. Most my business has moved online. Expenses are less and its less work.
Having said that we enjoy doing the shows and meeting and socialising with other traders and club members.
Please remember to visit us.

Te shows are killing them selves off by stupid hight prices for traders.
I hate to even hazard a guess of the cost to some dealer with large plots
A few years back the woman at Southdowns said it was costing them about £50k to exhibit at the NEC show, can well believe that.
If you can sell all you can get why bother, they don’t even open Sunday now!!

You have everything!

You even sorted me out with a telescopic pole at the Malvern show so that I no longer need a man……..……. to help me put up my side wind-blockers.

Works a treat 😀

I only come to see the bird🙂

they don’t even open Sunday now!!
Which is great if you want to buy one if you’re retired, work continental shifts or live on the doorstep! I guess they won’t be selling me one being as I work 5 1/2 days a week! I used to sell Harleys and weekend was prime time💰💰
I guess they’re just relying on selling to the retired🤷‍♂️🙄
It’s a struggle to get owt done without using your holidays if you’re still a worker🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️😞

Anyways it doesn’t matter to you as they are no longer selling Concorde so you have no need to visit😂😂

Even when they were open Sundays I don’t think they had salesman working as just people to show thr vans and take details.
I chased them twice after visiting for a Concorde Charisma price with no reply then before I bought my current van they had a new Charisma in stock and it was a 2 year old model and after discount was the same as what I paid in Germany for an up to date van with more extras on!!
Was not impressed with them.

In fairness to open Sunday even with minimal staff and the heating, electric cost it must cost a fair chunk.

I bought my first van on a Sunday👍
It’s not just buying a van it’s getting owt fitted/fixed it’s always a day off work to get stuff done. I’m off to get something done to my van one day next week, I’ve got to Chuck scooter in back, set off at 6.45 get to where I’m going before they open get scooter out book van in, go to work (2 hrs late, then leave work an hour early ride to place pick up van and Chuck scooter in back then come home at 5.30) I get that it’s not a 24/7 industry but a full day Saturday would help. I can get my car/scooter serviced/tyres fitted/ clutch fitted on a Saturday but nothing done to a moho🤷‍♂️

I can see your point of view but it's only the UK where everything opens on Sunday. Most mainland European countries apart from holiday areas shops are closed on Sunday. Germany apart from food shops they close at 1:30 on Saturday until Monday.

I think the UK was a much nicer place when shops were closed on Sunday and I've always thought that not just since I retired.

There was a big political push to open on Sundays but I agree with you I liked it a lot more when it was all closed. Not least because it obviously increases staffing costs and therefore caused inflation. There's only so much money to spend all you do by opening more is spread it out.
