Gavle , did you visit joe hill memorial ?Skipped Stockholm as the place I wanted to stay in the city for a couple of days explore was full - mid September, I was surprised.
Now at Gavle, very pretty town/city with a nice spot by the river. Taken a bike ride and a few photos and a place to come back to another time I would have said.
Swedish main roads are amazing - make French roads look like bridle ways and English roads like donkey tracks. Little traffic, no roadworks, smooth and steady all the way, very relaxing driving.
Two more long driving days ahead to get to the North of Sweden where hopefully )see post above) they will let me into Norway.

Stockholm if site full under the bridge , you can street ( quiet ) park near the old town hall in centre , easy walk along front admire the boats .Read my mind, if I get trapped n Sweden then I will make sure I take in more of it including Stockholm. My focus right now is to get as far North as possible and see if I can get into Norway - after that, who knows
Why ?I went in 1982,,could not get out fast enough,,BUSBY.
Ref swastikas , you see them all over , it’s an ancient emblem , I saw one in Chichester ( NZ ) cathedral !!!!!!! It was explained the meaning !Took a second bike ride in as the weather cheered up, found 4 pachyderms with swastikas on them - part of the Carlsberg Brewery and built in 1901 apparently...
