Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service

·
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service was called shortly before 10pm last night (November 5) to reports of a fire at a business premise on St David’s Road, Rushden.
Crews from Wellingborough Fire Station and Rushden Fire Station attended and on arrival found two motorhomes invol

Sad.

I expect it was an EV parked in front, that has completely melted and soaked into the gravel, or been taken away to remove the evidence! ! .... Or so some EV scaremongers will think! o_O
Surely the black lump next to the near side front wheel is what's left of it!(y):whistle2:

71 reg van . It would be interesting to know what caused that . In a storage situation.

My bet would be arson Jim.
It's located at a very large car, van and Swift motorhome dealership right next to the road on the edge of Rushden.

Perhaps it's like the furniture factories in High Wycombe toward the end. Going bust, year end coming up, catch fire; insurance pay out

Used to watch from the college opposite the fire station as smoke was billowing, response times longer at end of calendar and financial year ;)

Two furniture makers meet in a pub one say im soory to hear about the fire solly, shush says solly thats next week

Interesting to look at fire spread, or lack of it (sorry I'm a retired fireman) between the vehicles .....

Attendance times, weather conditions and intervention process will impact on fire spread as will the distance between the vehicles..... and we are constantly told we need 6m spacing, yet this example suggests that sometimes only motorhomes close to the seat of the fire might be affected.
Looking at the photograph doesn't reveal where the fire started or actually in which of the vehicles and my experiences have persuaded me not to jump to any conclusions.

PS I'm still an advocate of 6m spacing !!

Used to live between Rushden & Higham Ferrers and the lowlife was bad then.
We used to watch the p..ss heads trying to walk up or down the road to get to the next Pub.
Had our garage broken into twice, after the motorbikes that were in there, they failed.
We still go to Rushden as our Optician is there but we don’t hang about it’s not nice to see anymore, used to be a lovely little town!

I grew up there and still have family in the town. The place has certainly changed and not for the better. But unfortunately it's not unique in that aspect.

6 metre spacing between occupied motorhomes makes great sense for safety, but not possible on a sales forecourt I suppose..
what a shame, two vehicles destroyed..

Interesting how some towns or areas of, seem to attract people of certain lifestyles. As said Rushden is far from unique. While some have been changed by immigration over the last half century or so, others seem to have been taken over by the drug pedlars and users, more by gang culture, and others simply by those of low community values. On the contrary, some areas have developed a strong community and pride, and as a result, those visible aspects have improved out of recognition to how they were before.any of those have very high percentages of residents other than white British background.

Have seen all of this in areas of my home town over the years.

Looking back at our family tree to the early 1700's when we appeared mysteriously in Plymouth, has shown me that all these factors, migration and changes go back at least three centuries, and there is no reason to believe it hasn't happend since the stone age when some cave dwellers kept better homes than some of their neighbours.

There is much evidence that it doesn't take many of the community to get involved and trigger wholesale change.

I do hope the Rushden residents are able to find the same drive to bring the community as is together and make improvements to everyone's benefit.
