North east coast?

I'm doing Edinburgh to Aberdeenshire in the van next week. I'll let you know how I get on. Or if I need someone to post my bail.
Your wish is my command.

sorry. :imoutahere:

If I travel a few miles in a fully serviced motorhome and have a self isolated walk as exercise, which I am now allowed to do, how does staying overnight in that van, still isolating and having no contact with anyone affect the spread of the virus anymore than driving the few miles back home.

Then take another self isolating walk the day after without having to make two journeys.

In my opinion that is common sense.
Probably, if that was common sense, everyone would do it and you wouldn't be isolated for very long, only a few feet from the next motorhome. IF we can't do it, what makes you a special case?

Mmmmm if the egg came first who laid it ??????

Please refer to the last sentence of my post#18 ' Obviously if self isolating is not possible then don't do it', is that clear enough.

Nothing makes me a special case, I won't be doing it for various reasons and never said that I would, that has never been the point of my comments.

If you can't do it then neither can I, if that is the law.

I'm pretty certain that some dinosaurs were believed to have feathers so were the very, VERY, large ancient chickens?

You can travel places yes but you must return to your home by night to sleep not allowed to over night anywere but your home we had two motorhomes in Dartmouth Devon here today people were not happy about it at all not even happen about all the people that starting to come either as all see is potential carriers as there a lot off elderly people here to be honest to be honest an no were open

No people with second homes have also been told they not allowed to stay in the Devon and Cornwall are the lowest hit in country and would like to keep it that way our hospitals are small and we not have many left an a large influx off people can and good chance would bring a spike in covid19 cases here so wish people would understand why we all afraid here and not very welcoming at moment as police have and will continue fining and telling those second home owners to go bk home and same to motorhome,s my own motorhome parked on front been flagged by police a few times but they realise it mine now an I live here

Mmmmm if the egg came first who laid it ??????
More importantly who fertilised it?

As I said before it was the proto-chickens .......... creatures that were almost chickens but not quite.

The same here - we are low on the list of areas affected in Scotland and would like to keep it that way. We have one (small) general hospital for the whole of the county (there are local nurse led units but they are more like cottage hospitals), one A&E unit. An influx of cases would overwhelm the capacity we do have.

We want to stay safe and we want the visitors that we hope will come back in the future to also be safe when they are here. At the moment we can't make that promise should we get hoards of visitors.

I Vaguely remember seeing somewhere that Birds ARE descended from dinosaurs?

Ahh! Found the quote:-

Birds evolved from a group of meat-eating dinosaurs called theropods. That's the same group that Tyrannosaurus rex belonged to, although birds evolved from small theropods, not huge ones like T. rex. The oldest bird fossils are about 150 million years old. ... But over time, birds lost their teeth and evolved beaks.

Hope so as well as FIL stays there and at 89 he is still driving to go shopping at Tesco, dog walking and going for his morning paper.

It's all down to the sweets they kept eating! :giggle:

This is the first time I have posted on here since I joined, and I do this with trepidation.
Please be nice to each other and if you can't say something constructive and kind, don't say anything. The whole purpose of the post was to ask advice whilst wanting to do something nice for his wife's birthday.

Hi
Glad to see your post
There are a few cynics on here Chrissy, and I apologise
OP was mid Feb, pre lockdown, and the thread has mutated in that time as rules/ regs have changed

unfortunately OP is on the missing list after just 2 posts, but their thread has generated 137 additions?

Welcome aboard, posting wise

Hi Chrissy, welcome to the fun house.

Don't take things too seriously, lots of us are old hands on here so know each others ways quite well, most stuff is said in fun and/or not meant to be offensive.

I'd stay away from the Greta Thunberg thread if I was you ?

Unless of course you like seeing how a 17 year old girl can make grown adults so angry ?

i agree with what your saying however the post was made on Tuesday gone, Scoffsontour joined on the 18th Feb

People initially gave their thoughts, but then certain people continued to use the thread to continue to be confrontational just, I feel, for their own entertainment....the Internet unfortunately is full of them.

So airing ones own views in reply to posts criticising earlier posts is being confrontational!!
If someone criticises my posts I reply, that's called discussion not confrontation or is any view that does not agree with yours deemed to be confrontational.

Since my initial post on this thread I have only replied to someone quoting one of my posts, I have stated my views several times only in response to criticisms, many of them from yourself, It is not I that has kept this thread going. I take no enjoyment from having to repeat my views because some are incapable of comprehending or being deliberately obtuse.

I’m not really sure why you have taken my post personally and as if it was directed at you.

I have answered your posts three times, none of which have criticised you or your opinion, but don’t fear I won’t bother to answer anymore of your posts.

You also were not quoted on my post above.

KEY WORKER
Really?

To minimise the spread of the virus this county is minimising as much movement and contact of people as possible.

Key workers are needed to keep the country running, so the risk is calculated and accepted.

Happy campers, for all we’d all love to go back on the road, are not essential.

Irrespective of what you think is right or wrong.....the PM says we must return to put primary home after a day out.....end of.
Put your question to the government at the daily brief.....we’d all love to do it but it’s just not allowed.

So you probably won’t be risking the virus....but potentially risking the fine
