We’re heading to Leeds for a wedding in a couple of months, kids are off so we’re planning on making a long weekend out of it (coming from Scotland). It’s not our usual haunt as we’re either usually in the highlands or France so was after a bit of advice please.
The better half has always fancied the Norfolk Coast or around that area - just wondering if people had any experiences/recommendations or no-go’s.
We’re usually spoilt by being able to wild camp at our usual go to spots but happy to campsite it or remote it to go wild.
Just to add it’s Mrs D’s birthday that weekend too so I feel like I need to find somewhere nice🙏🏼😂

Very good but not motorhome friendly for the most part but there are various campsites and pubs that will let you stop.
Definitely worth a look if you haven't been before.

Lots of CL size places and sites more or less along the coast road especially between Sheringham and Cromer. North Norfolk Railway between Holt and Sheringham is worth a ride but check ahead as it's not always on steam early in the season.

Excellent Coasthopper bus service.

Oh and Norwich is a fine city with a long history, a castle and two cathedrals and and is worth a day trip. Suggest bus or train in.

Sidders. Also, keep your eye out for Rallies and THSs organised by any of the Camping Clubs, notably at Heacham, Hunstanton, Sheringham, Cromer, and Wells Next The. Sea.
The Suffolk coast is also very pleasant, so maybe more options including Kessingland. 👍

Good luck with the research. 🙂

Jock. :)

Sandringham CMC site is very nice, also Woodhill park East Runton is also ok, great bus service for all that coast, from Woodhill you can walk into Cromer, wasn't that keen but West Runton is very nice..

Another vote for Deepdale camping. Perhaps in the nicest part of the north Norfolk coast. I used to enjoy going there. Some excellent pubs and restaurants nearby, great bird watching and good walking on the Norfolk coast path.

It is.

They even let you know as you enter :D

The whole area is worth exploring. We do a day trips to Cromer but also enjoy the slightly quieter and less frequented spots such as Stiffkey.

Well worth exploring, lots of choices depending on what you want to see.

i love Mundesley its only a 3 hour driver for me so its my regular haunt Sandy Gulls campsite is right on the coast but its on a bloody great big slope definantely need levelling blocks or The Links campsite which is my preferred site ive also found a lively little wild spot thats patrolled by armed police so no chance the van will get nicked

Stopped here a few times and like it.
We also stayed here really nice and great pub (good food) in the village a 10 mins walk. I think it was called the Jolly Sailor.
Hopefully we’re heading back this year😃

We had some excellent food in the White Horse with nice views out over the coast. A short walk from Deepdale.

I stayed on my first solo visit to Norfolk straight after lockdown.

Bit pricey for 1 but t mentioned how lovely the nice big pitches were. With 2 vans in each plot corner to corner.

I was told normally there's 4/6 pitches in the spaces. But they were still allowing extra space .

I had a lovey time not been back as I don't want to.spoil the memory of lively spacious camping.

Nice shop and great restaurants/pubs and the staff very friendly

It’s a great area to visit, many of the stopover places have been mentioned above
A lot of pubs cater for MH overnighting so worth ringing around, they might be a bit pricey but provide an alternative to established sites
Given your likely route, I would suggest the section (via the A149) from Hunstanton to Cromer

Cliff Parade allows motorhome parking if you get there early enough in Hunstanton.
I think that stops Good Friday?

Also a motorhome day time car park near town centre (coach park) but no overnights there.

Think you will find most land in Norfolk is owned by someone so going wild maybe not an option.
